ASM and Oracle Restart

Hello,
I want to run ASM in Oracle 12c.  I do not want to use the Oracle Restart component which I thought I could do.
I have installed the grid infrastructure and am doing some testing trying to disable Oracle restart.
Im not sure how to stop the oracle restart itself so I tried to remove all components from it
thinking I cold just bring up the +ASM instance myself and then mount my diskgroups.  However, it seems that
the following unix server processes did not start after the reboot.
/db01/app/grd12ecm/product/12.1.0.2/grid/bin/ocsu
/db01/app/grd12ecm/product/12.1.0.2/grid/bin/cssdagent
