How to perform defective part removal using non-standard wip job using DR tech portal

Hello,

At the highest level we need help understanding what costing occurs when a WIP Return is performed in Depot repair module  Technician Portal.

We have two scenarios where we would perform a WIP Return and each scenario is producing the same costing results, however one of these is not what our accounting team would like to see.

Scenario 1:  A technician issues a part to a job and realizes the part is defective (Out of Box Failure) or not needed.  In either case the tech performs a WIP return to get the part back into inventory.  We would expect the WIP Return to bring the part back into inventory at the same cost as when it was issued to the job.  This scenario is working and is what is happening.

Howdy, Stranger!
