MFP - PC configuration settings that affect formatting?

I have a user that is having an issue with MFP version 13.4.1.10 in which a value is entered into a sales measure. When the calculate button is selected the first number of the value in each cell turns to a question mark. Also the values on the screen are in RMB as this instance of MFP is setup in China and the RMB symbol "￥" that is in front of the value is not visible as well. Other users are not having this issue. I validated the Java versions on the PC should be valid as versions are 1.6.0_45 and 1.7.0_21.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what PC configuration settings might cause this?
