R12 What is Amortized Asset change useful life only retrospective effect

Hello

I would like to ask you the following scenario.

Company A acquire Company B, company A has Oracle ERP while B is in SAP.

Even though the Company A has different policies for useful life in Machinery

Company A is going to setup a new Corporate Book in order to migrate all the SAP asset as it is in Oracle.

Company A

Machinery = 15 Years

Company B

Machinery = 20 Years

So the go live from migrate the Assets from SAP to Oracle will be in November 2014, All the values should tie from SAP and Oracle in November. However in December the company A wants to change the remaining life for the Machinery Category from 20 years to 15 years in December.
