How can we stop users from posting to a prior period?

Hi, has anyone see this strange behaviour?

  • JDE 9.1 allowed me to enter and post a JDE batch with my regular user ID
    to October, even though the current period had been set to November.

Note that I was prevented from entering a JE batch to
8/30/2014 when the period was set to September (9). JDE 9.1 seems to be
respecting the actual dates more than the period settings.
