Workflow between SRs and Activity

I currently have a field at SR level called Last Modified Date. This date is updated anytime a field at SR level has been updated. What we would like to do is have this field updated when an Activity is added to the SR as well. Is there a way to link a WF so that when an Activity is created

or saved that it will update a field at SR level?
