11.1.2.2 and ghostscript

Hi,

We're in the middle of trying to upgrade from 11.1.1.4 and getting tired of fighting with all the PDF issues in FR.  We're patched up to 315 and frankly not optimistic going up to 500/502 will finally magically make everything work.  It seems that when they did this:

New print engine. A new PDF generation architecture enables the Print Server
to also run on UNIX and eliminates the need for Adobe Distiller and GhostScript
PDF generation software. No customer licensing of third-party PDF software is
required.

it really wasn't regression tested very well.  Does anyone know if there's a way to sidestep this new engine altogether and go back to pumping through ghostscript?
