R12 Oracle Payments - accounting for payment factory

Apologies if this sounds like a dumb question but I keep reading about the payment factory function in R12.

There is a note "Understanding What the Oracle EBS "Payments" (IBY) module Is, and What It Does (Doc ID 1391460.1)" that states:

"Then a payment factory administrator using Oracle Payments can consolidate payments from different operating units into a single payment file for transmission and settlement, thereby reducing transaction costs."

But nowhere can I find an explanation of the accounting that takes place, nor of the impact on bank reconciliations.

Assume three organisations. Two of these orgs have invoices to be paid and the third "owns" the bank account that is used by the payment factory. Assume a single supplier invoices both organisations:

Howdy, Stranger!
