Only view accounts with activity in Account Inquiry

Is there a setting that only allows accounts with activity to show in Account Inquiry?  For example, we have thousands of account combinations, but in a given period, we may only have activity in a few of them.  If we select a particular period, we'd like to only see the accounts with activity in that period.  Is this possible?
