How do you create seperate pick instructions for an item that is both a work order component and a s

I am looking for some direction, we have an item that is both a component of a work order and a stand alone sellable item. The problem is the item location. We need the majority of the inventory to be held in the distribution center for standard pick/pack/ship processing. However, the work order processing is conducted in a seperate section of the warehouse and when the pick ticket is dropped for the work order components we would like the pick to come from the areas closest to the work order processing area.
