Attachments behavior

I am a little confused regarding attachments in ERP 8.0

I want to give the users the ability to attach pdf,xls, e.t.c files in various system applications.

What should i use?

URL/File or OLE?

I would prefer to use URL/File and have the users select ONLY from predefined queues. When i do that i am getting delays in attaching PDF files. I attach the file and after a while i get a message saying that adobe is having a problem.

If i use OLE i don't have the delay and the file opens ok. But i have to go through create from file option , select the link checkbox and go through directories. I DONT want to give the users this option.
