A9.3 Direct Migration to E9.1 - New Servers

HI

We are about to embark on a Direct Migration project from A9.3 to E9.1 and are planning to use either new hardware or new LPARS, so as to keep the current system totally unaffected by the upgrade process.

Since the new servers will not have A9.3 installed on them will it be sufficient to backup and restore ONLY the A9.3 data libraries on the new hardware /LPARS or do other libraries need to be restored as well?

What would be considered "Best Practice" in this situation?

Assuming that we ONLY need to restore the data libraries, will the "direct conversion/migration Software Update" still function as expected?
