Document Security 'Hierarchy' and AME approval process

Hi,

We are soon going to move from position based hierarchy approval process to AME approval process for purchase requisitions. Do we know if we set the document security for 'Purchase Requisition' to 'Hierarchy', will it still work the way it is described in the user guide i.e allow only document owner, subsequent approvers and individuals included in the security hierarchy can access the document?

Please advise.
