Performance of system turns badly after deployment Serial for inventory items - How to improve it?

Hi all,

Our system runs from 2009 for some Operation Unit with full modules of Financial and Logistics.

Performance of system is good until the time we deploy inventory items with serial on Nov-2013.

Data of serial now is 42 million records.

Now system performance is not good. Time to run request set for shipping confirm an SO an creating AR invoice take about 6 minutes. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes.  (This request includes: Auto ship confirm (All delivery), Interface Trip Stop - SRS, Workflow Background Process, Autoinvoice Master Program. In those request, Autoinvoice Master Program takes the longest time).

This cannot be acceptable because we cannot require customers wait for such long time.
