Can depreciation be calculated on CIP assets?

Hello All

Please can some confirm if depreciation can be calcualted on CIP Assets? As far as I remember It can't but when we are doing adding CIP assets through Mass Additions the depreciation seem to be calcualted but not as per the depreciation rule

For Example: We have implemented a solution to calculate the catch up depreciation on Amortized Assets. When adding capitalized assets through Mass Additions the catch depreciation is being calculated correctly. But for the CIP assets, it is calculating but incorrectly. Lets say if it was to be $100, it is calculating $2.

so just want to know from the standard functinality point of view whether the depreciation can be calculated on CIP assets?
