no gpnpd profile in oracle restart

Hello,

I see that there is no gpnpd profile in oracle restart although I understand that it's required in RAC.

Please help me understand why this is not required in oracle restart

One thing is  there is cluster_interconnect info in gpnpd profile in RAC however this is not required in Oracle Restart.Please suggest what could be other possible reasons
