gmon using lots of memory on 11gR2

We noticed the gmon process on two of our servers is using 85G on one and 68G on the other server.  It appears that it has taken all of the available memory.  We are not seeing any issues other than the memory use.

Is this normal behavior for gmon and is there a way way for us to throttle it down?
