upgrade database from SQL Server 2005

HI Team,

I would like to know from you that ,

We are planning to upgrade database from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2012 .

Please could you let me know what are the steps I need to perfrom before doing an upgrdation and while doing an upgradation and after upgradation.

I am new to these concepts could you please share your experiences ?
