R34400-Generating Vendor Release Schedule is wiping out planned orders in Supply/Demand

We've recently started using Vendor Release Scheduling but we've run into an issue that is causing users some heartburn.  The VRS process R34400 is running fine and creating vendor schedules.  Release of schedules is also working well.  The issue we have is that after these processes are run, the supply/demand screen P4021 loses all visibility to planned order requirements.  Has anyone else run across this and found a way to resolve?
