Release PR and Work Order within one item from ASCP

Hi All,

Our client have business scenario in their operation.

They have 1 item which can make by themselves and buy from vendor. If they are having adequate on hand quantity and the demand is satisfied, they will make/produce by themselves, however if the demand is very high, and the item is not enough. They decide to create PR to buy from a vendor.

Our workaround is creating PR (purchasing requisition) manually. But could ASCP make decision both make and buy from one item? Is there anyone having same scenario here?
