PartsList and backflushing

Is it possible to setup manufacturing so that we can produce a part list for Materials Handlers to pull components needed for a work order and then move those components to a common WIP location for the work order to backflush from?

Currently when we attach the parts list and routing to the work order, the system does a great job of hard committing the components from the proper locations (some lot controlled).  We then have the Material Handlers physically move the components to the WIP staging area for the production line.  We would like to identify in JDE that these components are no longer in their stocking location but are in the WIP staging area.  Because printing the parts list causes a hard commit we can't perform an inventory transfer From the stocked locations to a WIP location.
