Siebel Upgrade from 8.2.2.2 to 8.2.2.14

We are upgrading from 8.2.2.2 to 8.2.2.14 and I understand that its a two step upgrade :-  8.2.2.2 to 8.2.2.4 and then 8.2.2.4 to 8.2.2.14

However, after applying the 8.2.2.4 and 8.2.2.14 patch on the existing 8.2.2.2 environment, I started the upgrep activity and encountered the below error -

After further inspection, I saw that the ddl.ctl file did not have definitions of one of the column names under the S_CON_ADDR_U1 index. Thus i regenerated the ddl.ctl file using the ddldict utility and restarted the upgrade. Everything went through successfully and the state.log file shows no errors.

Can you advice if this is the right approach to take or do i have to work on the index in question with the development team and fix it before re running the upgrep.
