PPS IP 2014 ORA-24345: A Truncation or null fetch error occurred Advisory

Hi All,

 

 

As part of 3 IP 2014 upgrades we are working on we think we may have found an issue that is new for 2014. It looks like IP 14 is enforcing certain text lengths that the previous versions (.11 and .9).

 

 

Error retrieving next record from the database.(SBL-DBC-00104) 

 

ORA-24345: A Truncation or null fetch error occurred

 

 

It looks like what is happening is now the length of your fields in Tools is being enforced.  We have written quires that compare the length information in Tools to the length information in the database.

 

 

Here are two examples we have found and fixed:

 

  • S_postn_con record_status had the value of Assigned but the field mapped to this column is Boolean.
