12.1.3 - IE 10 and 11 on User Desktop

We are looking to implement IE 10 and/or IE 11 on users desktops.  I see there is pre-req patching for both IE 10 and 11 per note: 389422.1.  My question is what kind of testing is involved when performing this patching.  Are we just making sure the forms launch properly and we are able we are able to use the Java forms properly? 

We are limited on resources when it comes to testing, and if this is something where it is simple testing like just validating the forms launch properly, than I will move forward with the patching on test instance. Also, if there is anything specific I should be on look out for, that would be helpful as well.
