Can a change order be added to an Express PO created under virtual approver after AWE is turned on?

We use Express PO's and were using Virtual Approvals until 10/1/14, when AWE was implemented. We have Express PO's from prior to 10/1/14 that need change orders. Is that allowable? These are large PO's that have had lots of activity and creating new ones would be very time consuming.
