Import (impdb) performance on Oracle 12c is very poor - any new tips?

Hi

We are having ongoing issues in our organisation with development databases on Oracle 12c. The IMPDB commands for very small databases are take an extraordinary amount of time.

The full story can be seen in the attached document, and export from a JIRA item used to track the issue internally.

We have tried:

- Ignoring Statistics

- Changing various settings

This is the latest query from one of our in-house devs is also included below.

So,

  • have other people experienced this?
  • is this a known issue with certain versions of 12?
  • has anyone come up with a categorical set of steps to fix/workaround this issue?
