New asm attribute content.type for asm version 11.2.0.3 and higher

Hello expert,

                   In one of the webcast by oracle I found that we should set content.type attribute for 11.2.0.3 or higher version of asm?Can anybody help me to explain in detail what is this and what is the risk of not setting this.Please find the attached webcast.
