Importing Journal entries into JDE 9.1

We have begun encountering issues when importing some journal entries into JDE from Excel. The symptom is that the JE form does not complete in some cases, and the screen goes gray except for the balance remaining field. We have tested different excel versions, tested customized and non customized grids, tested import versus cut and paste. It appears there is some sort of validation for either subledger values or posting edit code issues that causes the problem. If either of these validations causes an error, this will intermittently result in the blank form. Has anyone else encountered this, and if
