Asset management adjustments

We are creating our assets from Purchase Orders.  The chartfield values are account, dept, chartfield 1, chartfield 2, and chartfield 3.  The add has these values.  When we do a cost adjustment the chartfield 1, chartfield 2, chartfield 3 values do not get those values.  Is there a way to default those values to the adjustment?
