Posting Incompatibility on Request Set for a Ledger Set?

We are currently running 12.1.3 eBiz, an environment that was upgraded to R12 from 11.5.10 a few years ago...Many books, currencies, op units, etc...a true global instance.

I would like to make posting incompatible with a Request Set for a single Ledger (old SOB) only.  I do not want to bring posting down across the entire instance while this Request Set runs in only a single SOB..

And, it needs to be incompatible with the entire Request Set--not just a single concurrent program...

I have been told this is not possible with native functionality.  Is this true? Does anyone else have experience with this?
