Transaction Line Level conversion

We will be converting from 11.5.10 to R12 soon and our AR Business team is requesting that we convert open invoices at a line level. We have done previous conversions at summary level and required the business to go into legacy system for transaction details. Is there anyone that has been able to convert AR detail successfully? We use Vertex and are concerned about the tax lines being converted at exactly the same amount. We are also concerned about our volume as we will have several million lines to convert.
