New direct deposit before the 10-day wait period.

We have an employee who submitted new banking information through HRSS on 23-Dec-2014, which was prenoted with check date 26-Dec-2014.  With check date 2-Jan-2015, the employee received direct deposit for the new account already, which is before the 10-day wait period.  We did not expect to see this direct deposited until the 9-Jan-2015 check date..Thoughts?
