is incarnation date too old

last week on 12/29/14, I did a restore back to 12/18/14.  and then today, I get a request to restore
back to 12/29/14 at a time before the first restore was done.

I get an oerr RMAN 20207 "UNTIL TIME or RECOVERY WINDOW is before RESETLOGS time"

the current is 12/29/14, and the parent is 08/21/14

I want to do a recovery to 12/29/14. should I use the 08/21/14 date to reset the incarnation?
Just wondering if there would be a problem with 08/21/14 being an old date.
