Default Stage Subinventory- Asset or Non-Asset

Hello All,

Want to know if the default stage subinventory when shipping an item should be made Asset or Non-Asset.  In other words what are the criteria to make Default stage subinventory Asset or Non-Asset or best practice/recommendation to make Default Stage subinventory Asset or Non-Asset.

Any opinion on this will be really helpful.
