Looking for some best practices on adding new ASM disks and modifying multipath file so that existing disks are not impacted. Recently, SA while adding disks inadvertently wiped out old disks and then when we restored old mutipath file ASM metadata corrupted.

We ended up recreating disk groups and then restoring the databases. Was not pretty at all
