Guidelines for Applying Patches in Install Base and Asset Tracking

Unexpected results can occur if any of the mandatory steps have not been followed correctly. Examples are:

  1) Database objects (especially Package Bodies) become invalid, resulting in transactions not properly interfaced to Install Base

  2) Code fixes introduced by a given patch are not used by the user's browser session,. This will result in userreporting that issue as not fixed even after applying the solution patch

Those responsible for patch application for the Install Base and Asset Tracking modules should review this list of all the mandatory and optional steps required whenever Install Base (CSI) or Asset Tracking (CSE) patches are applied in an environment.
