Can we change employee supplier type to others in 11.5.10.2?

Bug 5908518 - ALLOW THE SUPPLIER TYPE TO BE CHANGED FROM "EMPLOYEE" IN SUPPLIER FORM mentioned that system allows to change employee type supplier to another.


If so, is there any way to update to type for several suppliers in once update script? eg. update vendor_type_lookup_code column on po_vendors table as 'STUDENT' from employee?


If no, what is the reason that users cannot change supplier type from employee?


Note: the employees are already inactivated in HRMS, only use the data as suppliers in AP but need to change the type in AP.
