Apply Lag-Active Dataguard

Hi Gurus, 11203 RAC RHEL 6.1

I have a RAC active dataguard setup with RAC primary(3 -node).There is a Lag of few seconds goes upto 10 mins which is unacceptable for real time reporting.I need to fix the apply lag so that the lag is 0 secs.I have securefile LOBS(XMLTYPE) in the db and network encryption enabled.

Please let me know how to tune the apply lag.
