Oracle server resource times out.

Good morning All:

We recently had an issue where the permission/ownership for "bin" found under "/usr" was changed to 770 and real:licease. This alone prevented the oracle server resource from coming online. The second the permission/ownership was changed back to 755 and root:bin, the oracle server resource came right up.

What I find confusing is that the cluster software runs as root and I'm sure it uses the oracle user to startup/shutdown the DBs. The oracle user had read/execute rights within this folder, but yet the oracle server resource timed out until the permission/ownership was set back to 755 and root:bin.

Howdy, Stranger!
