Setting up SAN LUNs for root boot in a cluster environment

edited Jan 22, 2015 10:55AM in Oracle Solaris Cluster (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered ✓

I'm attempting to setup SAN LUNs as an alternative boot device on v490s in a 3-node Solaris Cluster 3.2u3

I've updated the qlogic hbas to latest firmware.

I've installed boot blocks.

I've partitioned the LUNs similar to internal root disks, and successfully attached it to mirror to sync.

But I cannot seem to get the boot prom to find the device, and when booting to normal root disks, the svm
components all go into maintenance state.

I brought in the new LUNs from (AMS-1000) and DID's were created for the devices. But it seems, that things
are fenced when trying to access the boot LUNs so I have unmonitored and offline the LUNs from cluster perspective.

Howdy, Stranger!
