Pre up-grade activity conversion for in operative books

In Upgradation process from R11 to r12, as a process of pre-upgradation activity we run the depreciation for all books and keep the period open.

But in our case we have some books in operative since 2009(in furture they may use it). If we don't run depreciation till date  for those books (as a pre-upgrade process), will those books still gets upgraded to R12??
