Reclassify Asset category

Dear Experts

Our user have a requirement they need to reclassify exiting asset category to new define asset category current category has 12.5 % default  rate define and  new category has 33% rate,So to be full fill this requirement they did following workaround.

• Change asset category
• Done and save
• Run deprecation

After perform above step respectively they seems asset will adjust but according to GL reserve ledger report  there Asset cost,depreciation amount and  depreciation reserve become zero.

We need your guidance kindly correct us if we are getting wrong somewhere else or suggest us any other alternative way out to full fill above
