Migrating Data Forms from 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.3.500

We are going to upgrade from 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.3.500. We have been told that the Data Forms will not migrate between the two versions and they all need to be re-created. I haven't been able to find any information to support this. Can anyone verify this? Are there any tools to assist with conversion?
