Limit list of timecards shown in Self-service screen for employee.

Does anyone know if there is a system parameter that limits the timecards that come up on the self-service time screen for an employee?  We had a customization on this screen that got broken with RUP7/Year-end patching, and it appears that Oracle has added a "period_start" date parameter to their back-end query.  I'm wondering if this was intended to limit the old historical timecards that show up on the screen when an employee goes into Time Entry.
