Best Upgrade Process to Reports 11.1.2.2

in Oracle Reports (MOSC) Question

We currently have several servers running the following configuration:

JDK 1.6.45

WLS 10.3.5

Reports 11.1.2.0

We would like to upgrade these systems to use the following components:

JDK  1.7.72

WLS 10.3.6

Reports 11.1.2.2

The different certifications/installation procedures are kind of confusing, and the last time I attempted this, it resulted in a failed Reports 11.1.2.2 installation.  I was wondering if anyone could give me the best way to upgrade these systems so that everything runs afterward, or is this configuration not possible without doing a clean installation?
