Best practices for configuring archive log deletion policy

I am implementing GoldenGate12c, using the integrated Capture mode. I would like to know what are the best practices for configuring the archive log deletion policy. For example, should I set the ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY within RMAN, or should I leave it as default and manage the archive logs manually.
