BI Publisher available for standalone P6 reporting?

User is interested in using/learning BI Publisher and possibly generating reports from standalone P6 install on his local machine. Is this even an option?? The only BI Publisher is the web portal available with the EPPM install. I installed a standalone version on my machine but it appears to only be a MS Word plugin?
