Can we seperate object managers into different IIS Application Pools?

We are currently upgrading from 8.0.0.9 SIA to 8.1.1.11 SIA.  We are wondering if in IIS, we can seperate our different object managers to run in different IIS application pools?  We are only using ENU as a language.
