Shall we add the RAM and change flash after disk change 600g -> 4T ?
Hello, colleagues
Oracle offers Exadata Disk Swap Service, which change HP disks to HC disks.
We have Exadata Database Machine X2-2 AK00031090 and we want to change our 600g HP disks to 4T.
But as we well know RAM is used to store Storage Indexes.
Question: do we need to add more RAM to storage servers or not? Explain, please, if not?
I see the Exadata Disk Swap Service presentation and in slide 2 is
" Note: Only the disks can be swapped, flash and compute remain the same", and i don't understand why ?
If 24g RAM is enough for 4T disks then why Oracle added more memory for X3 and X4 cells as compare to X2?
