R42800 error - 4240 posting to blank company (invalid)

Hi, I need some HELP...

we changed from 02 ave cost to 07 std cost (without detail product cost).  Now we cannot sales update and intercompany order.  Error is 4240 is not set up for a blank company.  However the dmaai 4240 and all accounts set up is valid.  logs show that when R42800 is run, at one point it actually REMOVES the company (7000) and inserts a "blank".  Has anyone ever seen this before??

If I change F4105 back to CSMT back to 02 from 07 sales update is fine.

Help??
